McKidd joined the series as Dr. Owen Hunt during Season 5 (2008)
Raver debuted as Dr. Teddy Altman in Season 6 (2009)
before leaving after Season 8 and then returning in Season 14
The actors' departures are said to be a creative decision, and, as with other stars in the "Grey's Anatomy" franchise,
they may return in the future
