CBS has found its female lead for its original series in Melissa Fumero
 She will star opposite the previously announced Matthew Gray Gubler, who plays Albert Einstein’s great-grandson. 

Fumero will play Teri, a Detective Inspector
for the New Jersey State Police. Sharp and disciplined, Teri demands a lot from her colleagues and even more from herself, and feels conflicted about working with Professor Einstein

Einstein follows Lewis Einstein (Gubler), the brilliant but directionless great-grandson of Albert Einstein. He spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor until his bad-boy antics land him in trouble with the law, and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective (Fumero) solve her most puzzling cases

 The series joins CBS’s 2026-2027 broadcast season and begins production this month

Shen will play their daughter Emma, a "cynical and sardonic" veterinarian with commitment struggles, who is dating a human, Max (Lewison), much to the chagrin of her vampire parents 
with whom she lives at home in a coven. Charles and Liz. A longtime witness to their difficult marriage, Emma is a commitment-phobe who is always waiting for the other shoe to drop in relationships Young will play Jesse, a lovable goofball and an under-thinker in a house of over-thinkers. Part of Charles & Liz’s vampire coven since the mid 1800’s, Jesse’s trick to avoiding getting tied down for eternity is that he only marries humans. As he says, “Have fun for a while, then you get a new model” when they pass away. Only problem is that people are living a lot longer than they did back in the day. Consequently, he is in the fourth decade of very loving marriage with a woman who could now easily pass for his mother
