Battalion Chief Dominick “Dom” Pascal will spend some off-camera time in the latter part of Season 14. Pascal will last appear in the upcoming 14th episode, with a break that will take him into the end of the season, when he may return. Understanding that scripts for the last episodes have yet to be finalized. Mulroney will appear in the just confirmed upcoming crossover event (Episode 13)

While Pascal is away, fans will meet a new addition to the series, to be played by Rob Morgan
In his absence, Hopkins takes the reins and is quick to exert his power over his colleagues. Like many new Chicago Fire characters, Hopkins has a complicated haunted past in the CFD, notably while overseeing firehouses.
He will make his Chicago Fire debut in Episode 16 and will appear in four episodes, including the season finale.
It's reported that Dom's absence is integrated into the story and serves a larger picture that viewers will understand with time. It's unclear when Mulroney will return, especially since the hiatus will bleed into Season 15, which has yet to be ordered
