CBS will require its reality shows — including “Survivor,” “Big Brother” and “Love Island” — to include a cast that is 50% Black, Indigenous or People of Color (BIPOC), starting with the 2021-2022 season. The network will also put at least a quarter of its development budget into creators and producers who are BIPOC, echoing previously announced diversity targets for its scripted programs and writers' rooms. Survivor contestants had spoken out earlier this year about a lack of diversity in the show's casting.
